COVID-19 NOTICE

05/19/2020

As stated in the bylaws the purpose of Rocky Point Club (RPC) is to operate a social club devoted principally to swimming, sailing and activities relating thereto. Pursuant to Article III, Section 3 the Board shall have power to make such rules as it deems proper governing the use of the clubhouse, its grounds and appurtenances, by members and guests.

The Board is now faced with the reality of the Covid-19 pandemic and what RPC will be allowed to do by the State and local officials. In addition to following those rules we, as a Board, must determine what we should do in order to keep the premises and your experience as safe as we reasonably can under the circumstances. In order to do so some of our existing rules will be modified or changed by the Board. We will provide notice of those changes as soon as possible after they are adopted.

These rule modifications will not insulate you from the Covid-19 virus. We cannot accomplish that. Every member must make their own decision as to what level of risk they are willing to accept, if any. As we said above we are going to make the premises and your experience as safe as possible under the circumstances but we cannot eliminate all risks.

The relative safety of the members will depend to a large degree on the members and their families adhering to the modified rules. We need to work together, protect each other and respect all members, guests and staff.

We urge you to read these rules carefully and to make sure you and your family respect them. Violations put the safety of others at risk and will have to be brought to the board. We would have to take action pursuant to Article II, Section 7 of the by-laws. We certainly hope that this is never necessary.

Lastly we ask that you appreciate that your Board and the staff are doing their best to navigate this new landscape and we ask for your patience and understanding.

Sincerely,
Claire Brown, President
